English Access Students’ participate in Eid Celebration On August 9, 2013, all the 40 Access students of both groups along with Access instructors reached the Access classroom at 4 P.M. for observing Muslim’s great festival Eid. Students designed greeting cards and decorated the classroom. On the very occasion, the Muslim priest Mr. Mohammad Ishaq was invited to make the students familiar with the importance of Eid and its religious practice. He even highlighted the activities performed during Eid like how to greet and hug each other expressing an honor. The students handed the greeting cards over to the guest and to the Access student, Amir Hussain, who is the only Muslim student from the Access class. On top of that, all the participants tasted the religious dish ‘Sewai’. Finally they hugged each other, wished and enjoyed singing and dancing joyfully.
English Access students visit Senior Citizens’ Home
On March 09, 2013, Access Butwal Center organized an out- door program as a part of a regular enhancement activity where all 40 Access students along with the teachers and focal person visited ‘Siddhababa Durga Bhawani Shivkumari Saiju Elders Home’, an organization that is run by the charity and the donation of generous donors at Tallo Fulbari, Butwal. With required preparation, the Access family reached the venue on stipulated time. The students cleaned up the periphery of the senior citizens’ home. Then they reflected on the purpose of the visit. The manager of the senior citizens’ home, Mr. Krishna Reshmi provided information about the establishment of the home along with its system of enrollment along with other information about the capacity of 16 senior citizens above 75 years who get enrolled there free of cost. Access students’ visit to the Senior Citizens’ Home helped them become much more responsible towards elderly people in the society while being become aware of community service. Access students also distributed small gift packs to the senior citizen with honor. They shared their feelings and opinions with senior citizens and the students also listened to some stories from the senior citizens. Finally, the students were blessed by the senior citizens.
Currently, there are 40 students and 4 teachers in this center. The venue is New Horizon Higher Secondary School, Butwal Municipality, Butwal, Rupandehi, Nepal.
