Access to Me:
We, the Lalitpur Access
Sandesh Magar, Lalitpur
Access Classes are different from our regular classes in various ways such as in our schools teachers teach in traditional ways which makes us bored in learning English but in Access Classes we learn English with so much fun. When I am in Access classes, I forget my personal problems and the time passes very freely. I want to spend more time in Access classes. There are many facilities in our Access classes. I never feel tired and bored in Access classes because my teachers always make me busy in different fun activities from which I learn English.
Roma Basnet, Lalitpur
For me Access is a resource center which helps me to develop My English proficiency. Access Classes organize many different activities like writing stories, working in a group, cleaning surroundings, watching movie, and learning English songs. In regular classes in the school we just learn from books.

We, the Butwal Access
Amir Husain, Butwal
I feel proud of being an Access student as it has brought a lot of changes in my life such as in my behavior, attitude and study as well. I couldn’t talk in English before but now I can talk fluently. I have increased all four language skills. Today many people know me as Access student. Had I not got chance to be enrolled in this program, I would not have achieved the remarkable changes and success in my study. I am grateful to NELTA and US Embassy for this wonderful opportunity.
Bimala Hiski Magar, Butwal
I was quite shy before. It had become the hindrance in my study but Access has made me extrovert and expressive. I can speak in front of the whole class now. Not only that I can dance and sing. I have become confident which has positive impact in my study and personality development.

You
- Anash Khan
Willing to search you
But I don’t find you
Willing to see you
But I can’t see you
When I was willing to feel your sense
Willing to fulfill your desires
But I can’t
Because you want me to follow you
But I want to lead you in my reality
Through a path to the destiny
That’s why I can’t
Feel, hear, search, touch, and remember you
Because when I was there
But
You were not there
And when you were there,
I was not there……………….
About Life
- Shabana Khatun
Life is a four letter word
Short in sounding, but hard
To live in reality
Life is full of sorrows and grief
It’s a way of up and down
Life is a dream but has to succeed
Life is a journey
That travels till it ends
It’s a wonderful chance
Hurry up! Fulfill your dream
And demand
Let’s Do Brother
- Rabindra Nepal
Martyrs are the sons of our old mother
So let’s show some respect brothers
Mother is in trouble, Oh! My honey
Please brothers don’t run after money
Love the country and do honor to martyrs
Don’t show the discrimination and partiality
Grow the feelings of patriotic humanity
Never fall in the pond of dishonorable prosperity
From this small poem what can I say
There is huge debt for us to pay
Debt of the country and debt of the mother
Just time to think about the development further
Sow the seeds of rose in the heart
Blow the balloons of happiness from hut
We are no rich either
But love for the country is warmer than fiber
Fashion
- Sabita Khadka
What to say about fashion
This is created by new generation
Which gives every parents irritation
Why does everybody like fashion
Every boy and girl is running towards fashion
It makes their parents irritation
No one cares about their tradition
They always break rules of regulations
Always spending money in fashion
Parents don’t have time for only calculation
Now it is time to find its solution
Otherwise it will create big irritation
We have to think about the country protection
It will help to get country’s new transformation
Not to run after fashion
First think about your ambition
This is all about what is fashion
Patriotism
- Prayag Raj Upadhyay
Patriotism is a strong feeling of nationality
It supports in development of a country
Our country is our mother
We must respect our mother
We should respect our country too
Patriotism promotes nationality
Among the people too.
People with patriotic feeling
Who love their country
They want to develop their country
It’s the important factor for the society
Who don’t have patriotic feeling
They never show interest in the country
They just run after money
They are guided by their self-interest
Patriotism is an important factor for nation
It can settle any dispute among the people
We should love our country more than our life
And stand against vulture’s soul rivals
Sumitra Pokharel
Peace
- Avishek Silwal
There is no place left
Where I search you
Because,
I searched you in gorge of hills
Streams, canopy of dense clouds
Even in the Mt. Sagarmatha
And beneath a river’s shadow
Yes,
I searched you in God’s eyes
I searched you in the clear blue skiesjj
Where I find pigeons
pigeons roaming with the vulture’s soul
once I searched in deep black sea
to get sensation of peace
But,
I find it as burning of fire
Yes, I searched you in horizon
In the point of zenith
And even in the mystery of kingdom
I asked to heaven’s God about peace
But they didn’t answer me
Now,
I recognize that
The world is not for you
This is for evil……
My teachers
- Shagufta Mahmood
I love my teachers very much
They are not only interesting teachers
Not only do they explain our lessons well
They also teach us to behave well
It is the duty of every teacher to teach
But what makes one stand out among many
Is the quality of knowledge they import
And how the students imbibe those lessons
I have studied under many teachers
But one has caught my imagination
They are not only good teachers in the class
Their teaching is an inspiration that you can’t miss
This is my earnest prayer that my teachers may
Ever prosper in life
And be to many a beacon of light
To give chance to the students successful flight
I will miss my teachers
- Binita Bhattarai
I will miss my teachers
Because they are my future
I will miss my friends of Access
Because they were my trends of success
I will miss my Access class days
Because they are my beautiful rays
I will miss my teachers terribly
Because they ignored my every mistake safely
I can’t explain the love for my teachers really
Let’s laugh!
- Rupa Basnet
Man A: Sitting with dog.
Man B: You dog bites?
Man A: No.
Man B: Sits and the dog bites him.
Man B: Says angrily, you said your dog doesn’t bite!
Man A: Well, that is not my dog, buddy.
Ram: What are the people of Turkey called?
Hari: I don’t know.
Ram: They are called Turks. Now, what are the people of Germany called?
Hari: They are called Germs.
My Experience in Access
- Sabbu Banu
Before joining Access, I used to feel hesitation to talk in English with my teachers and even with my friends in school and at English Access class. I was not able to speak a single word because my English was not so good. But I think that after joining this Access Program, I have gained a lot of confidence to talk in English with anyone. I have built my leadership skill. And this Access has helped me to achieve my goal for future.
This Access gave me opportunities to know about Western culture, esp. about American culture and celebrations. I have celebrated many festivals with my teachers and students like Thanksgiving day, Christmas day, Independence day, Teej, Id etc. From Access, we got wonderful opportunity to participate in a week-long Spring leadership camp where we met many friends from Gorkha and Bhairahawa. We played various games, attended sessions on Yoga for meditation, volunteering in the community for leadership skills. I enjoyed a lot at English Access class for two years. Thus, I will never forget my teachers, friends, and my classroom in my life time.
Finally, I would like to thank the US Embassy, NELTA for giving me opportunity to be in the Access Program. I feel proud to be the student of Access class because it’s my favorite class where I ever met such wonderful teachers and friends.
HEART on EARTH
Once upon a time there was a holy person who used to live by a big river. One day when he was going to the Shiva's temple, he saw an scorpion was kept away by the river. He went to save, but scorpion stung holy person's on his fingers while he was saving.
Every time scorpion stung him, but he kept on trying to save it from river. At last he was able to save bearing much pain.
Villagers asked why he had saved an evil creature that was stinging him all the time. Then the holy person replied,"If the scorpion cannot give up its nature, why should I ?" Hearing this villagers went away.
Its the nature of a good man to help all in distress.
MAN BECOMES A MAN IF HE HAS A HEART OF KINDNESS. NATURE OF A GOOD PERSON IS TO HELP ALL in SADNESS AND DISTRESS.
-Pramod jung and Avishek silwal (First Cohort, Group A students who are now alumni of Access Program Nepal)
Unknown
As the light of sun glows
Like the flower of rose
And the swift wind blows
In the form of melting white snow
The path made by the rivers
That it will know
And a lot of memories
And a future dreams
That we may not deserve
But we may try to know
As they say river has own destinations
It goes across the hill, high lands
Crossing even mountains
To meet its destiny to the blue sea
Always there the river will be
Thinking about this all
And about me
Looking at the foggy street
I see the shadow of unseen
Which leads me
Unknowingly I’m following it
To reach my destiny
As it saves me from thorns, pains
And help me in every distress
Makes me happy
When wandering through the path of sadness
Shows glimpse smile on its face
Makes me feel aware
I found to whom I can trust
I found that thinks similar to me
And makes all the things of mine
As it deserves more than me
Making help, support and effort
Slaughtering all the painful sorrows
By the mighty swords and knife
Brings joys in my life
